Yes. For a Single Trip policy, the age limit is 75 years old. And Insured Person under the age of 17 and traveling alone (no matter joining a tour or not) is unacceptable. The age limit for the Annual Multi-Trip policy is 70 years old and the policy can be renewed until the Insured Person reaches the age of 75.
180 days for the Single Trip policy and 90 days per trip for the Annual Multi-Trip policy. The number of trips is unlimited under the Annual Multi-Trip policy.
No. A travel policy must be arranged before departure. In most circumstances, the Insurer will not accept your application for insurance if the trip has begun.
Yes, but the Insurer must be notified before the expiry of the travel policy and the extension is subject to an additional premium. Nevertheless, the trip after the extension must not exceed the day limit as stated in Q2.
No. A travel policy takes immediate effect after the purchase of the policy. Therefore, the policy cannot be cancelled after purchase and approval. If the reason of cancellation falls within the coverage of Cancellation of Trip, the insured will be indemnified for the unrecoverable travel fare or other expenses.
No. The Family Plan includes parents and their children under the age of 17 (on the day of departure). Grandparents and children who reach 17 years old will have to purchase their own travel policies.
No, the Proposer and Insured Person must be a Hong Kong Permanent Resident holding a valid HKID card.
No. The employer is advised to arrange a separate policy for the domestic helper.
Yes. The period of insurance should cover the whole journey, i.e., both departure and return dates are inclusive.
No. A travel policy does not indemnify the Insured Person for any loss due to bankruptcy, liquidation, error, omission or default of any travel agency and tour operator. The insured will have to lodge his/her claim directly with the relevant party.
Yes, the Insured Person must receive the first medical consultation on the same illness or accident during the insured journey abroad before being entitled to claim the follow-up medical treatments in Hong Kong.
