Is there any age limit under the travel policy? |
| A1: |
For a Single Trip policy, an Insured Person with an age exceeding 75 must seek pre-approval from the Insurer. An Insured Person under the age of 17 and traveling alone can only purchase the Silver or Bronze Plan. The age limit for the Annual Multi-Trip Policy is 70 years old and the policy can be renewed until the Insured Person reaches the age of 75. |

What is the longest trip that can be covered? |

180 days for the Single Trip policy and 90 days for the Annual Multi-Trip policy. The number of trips is unlimited under the Annual Multi-Trip policy. |

Can the travel policy be arranged after departure for the trip? |
| A3: |
No. A travel policy must be arranged before departure. In most circumstances the Insurer will not accept your application for insurance if the trip has begun. |

Is it possible to extend the period of insurance after departure? |

Yes, but the Insurer must be notified before the expiry of the travel policy and the extension is subject to an additional premium. Nevertheless, the trip after the extension must not exceed the day limit as stated in Q2. |

Can I cancel the policy and have the premium refunded before commencement of the trip? |

No. Benefit under Cancellation of Trip takes immediate effect after the purchase of the policy. Therefore, the policy cannot be cancelled after purchase. If the reason of cancellation falls within the coverage of Cancellation of Trip, the insured will be indemnified for the unrecoverable travel fare or other expenses. |

Can grandparents be included in the Family Plan? |

No. Family Plan includes parents and their children under the age of 17. Grandparents and children over 17 years old will have to purchase their own travel policies. |

Can a non-HKID cardholder purchase the travel policy? |

Yes, as long as the trip starts from, and returns to the Hong Kong SAR and the Insured Person can provide his/her passport number for record. |

Can a domestic helper be included in the Family Plan? |

No. The employer is advised to arrange a separate policy for the domestic helper. |

Is it necessary to include the departure and return dates in the period of insurance upon application? |

Yes. The Personal Accident insurance protection starts when the Insured Person leaves the place of residence or employment for the Hong Kong Immigration office/counter direct and ceases when he/she reaches home or the workplace direct from Immigration after the trip. |

If the tour operator becomes bankruptcy, can the Insured Person claim under the policy? |

No. Cancellation and Curtailment of Trip benefit does not indemnify the Insured Person for any loss due to bankruptcy, liquidation, error, omission or default of any travel agency and tour operator. The insured will have to lodge his/her claim direct with the relevant party. |

Must the first consultation be made abroad if the follow up medical expenses in Hong Kong are claimed? |

Yes, according to the policy terms, the Insured Person must receive the first medical consultation to the same illness or accident during the insured journey abroad before entitling to claim the follow up medical treatments in Hong Kong. |

Will any group discounts be offered? |

A special discount will be offered to groups of 7 persons or more and an extra discount for groups of 12 persons or more. |
