2022 Banking Graduate Trainee Programme
Program Overview:
Banking Graduate Trainee Programme aims at equipping fresh graduates from universities with job/industry knowledge, skills as well as practical experience in the three new growth engines which drive the future of the banking industry. The engines include financial technology, green and sustainable finance, and cross-border business in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area ("GBA"). In addition to trainings provided by our bank and a series of training activities centrally organized by the HKMA, our experienced managers/officers will offer coaching and performance feedback for trainees' career and personal growth on an on-going basis. To facilitate professional development, trainees will be sponsored to pursue relevant professional qualifications in the respective business/function streams for building their professional competence.

Banking Graduate Trainee – Fintech Stream
Responsibilities:
- Conduct market intelligence and enhance customer experience thru digitalization
- Support the enhancement on e-Banking products and services
- Conduct User Acceptance Test ("UAT")
- Assist in Fintech related projects
- Provide administrative support and perform ad hoc duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Degree holder in Banking and Finance, Business, Business Analytics, Financial Technology or related disciplines
- Passionate in new technology
- Keep abreast of the trend and practices on the design and development of mobile applications in the market
- Fast learner with good presentation skills
- Good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese
Trainee – Green & Sustainable Finance Stream
Responsibilities:
- Provide support on the implementation of the Bank's Sustainability framework and initiatives
- Conduct research and analysis on Environment, Social and Governance ("ESG") and Green and Sustainable Banking ("GSB") related topics e.g. climate risk and impact baselining, decarbonization, etc.
- Collect, consolidate and analyze sustainability information and data for regular reporting and other sustainability related submissions and disclosures
- Assist in ESG and GSB reporting towards environment, social and corporate governance in quantitative and qualitative manner
- Perform climate risk stress testing and scenario analysis in accordance with international and local regulatory requirements and industry practice
Requirements:
- Degree holder in environmental studies, economics, engineering, science, finance, accounting or related disciplines
- Strong interest in sustainability, climate-related and green finance topics
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Self-motivated, detail-minded, mature, flexible and able to work independently
- Proficient PC skills
- Good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese
Trainee – GBA Business Stream
Responsibilities:
- Provide support to identify and develop commercial lending business from both new and existing customers
- Develop, maintain and enhance long-term relationship with customers by offering quality services
- Assist in handling cross-border businesses referred by counterparts in Hong Kong or overseas
- Prepare credit proposals, review existing facilities and monitor customers' risk profile to achieve business targets and mitigate potential risks
- Understand the Bank's Tri-Bank platform of the corporate cross-border business referrals among Shanghai Commercial & Savings Bank and Bank of Shanghai
- Support in preparing reports, presentation materials and any other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Degree holder in Business Management, Banking, Finance or related disciplines
- Basic financial knowledge
- Good organizational, analytical and quantitative skills
- Strong service and sales orientation with good interpersonal, communication and problem solving skills
- Team player with proactiveness and passion
- Be able to work independently and under pressure
- Good command of both written and spoken English, Chinese and Putonghua, knowledge of Shanghainese is a plus
