One-Time Password Authentication Service

To provide you a more secure and convenient way for online shopping, Shanghai Commercial Bank has launched the "One-Time Password" Authentication Service.

Benefits of "One-Time Password" Authentication Service:

  • Provide password for extra authentication service, making online transaction more secure
  • Easy to use
  • No registration is required

How "One-Time Password" Authentication Service Works:

Step 1: Perform transaction with Shanghai Commercial Bank Visa or MasterCard Credit Card at online merchants with the following symbols

            Visa Verfied By Visa               MasterCard SecureCode
Step 2: Receive a "One-Time Password" via SMS sent by the Bank

Step 3: Enter the "One-Time Password" received as instructed by the online merchants and the transaction will be completed

To provide or update your mobile phone number for enjoying the "One-Time Password" Authentication Service, please complete the "Change of Customer Information Form" and return the completed form to any of our branches.

  1. If you have not yet provided the Bank with a valid and latest mobile phone number, you will not be able to receive the "One-Time Password" sent by the Bank and complete online transactions at merchants with online transaction authentication service.
  2. If the online transaction is made with a supplementary card, the "One-Time Password" will be sent to the registered mobile number of the supplementary card account.
  3. If you would like to disable the online transaction function of your credit card, please call our Credit Card Customer Service Hotline on 2818 8236.

Security Tips When Using Mobile Phones:
  1. Avoid open an email of suspicious origin
  2. Do not download attachments of suspicious origin or nature
  3. Install and turn on firewall and intrusion detection system
  4. Update virus and spyware definition files
  5. Use anti-virus software to scan your devices regularly
