New Functions for Credit Cards

To strengthen protection for credit card customers, the Bank will add the below new functions / services via "Personal Internet Banking" / "Shacom Bank" mobile App from 20 December 2023 onwards. Details are shown below:

 

 

Authorize Online Transactions via Mobile Security Token

  • Existing Shacom Bank Mobile App users who have registered Mobile Security Token1 will be able to authorize credit card online transaction2 via biometric authentication or self-defined Security Passcode in Shacom Bank Mobile App instead of using the One-Time Password (OTP) for enhanced security function.


    Notes:
    1. To protect customer and further strengthen the security of online transaction, after registration or re-registration of Mobile Security Token, customers are required to contact our Customer Service Hotline to verify identity in order to authorize credit card online transaction or perform high risk transactions (e.g. fund transfers to non-registered accounts, increase transaction limit, etc.) of Personal Internet banking.

      On after-banking hour (Monday – Friday 19:00-08:59, Saturday after 13:00), Sunday and Public Holidays, please press "3>1>8>1*>2>7"

    2. Additional authentication only required for participated online merchants with transactions classified as high risk.

 

Manage Card-Not-Present (CNP) Transactions*

  • Cardholders can choose to enable or disable CNP transaction function and change the daily CNP transaction limit at any time via "Personal Internet Banking" / "Shacom Bank" mobile App.
  • All Credit Card Accounts are preset to accept CNP transactions. Cardholders can choose to disable or change the daily CNP limit according to their needs.
     
    Step 1: After logon in "Personal Internet Banking" / "Shacom Bank" Mobile App, select "Cards" > "Manage Card-Not-Present (CNP) Transactions".   Step 2: Choose to disable or enable or change the daily CNP transaction limit and press "Disable" or "Enable" or "Update CNP Transaction Limit".
     
     
    Step 3: If choose to enable or change the daily CNP transaction limit, please input CNP transaction limit and press "Confirm".   Step 4: Verify the credit card information and press "Confirm" before completed.
     

    *Note:

    • When the CNP transaction function is disabled, CNP transactions defined by card associations (e.g..Visa/Mastercard/UnionPay), including but not limited to e-commerce online shopping, Wechat Pay, Alipay, UnionPay QR, mail or telephone order, etc., may be rejected. ATM, JETCO and EPSCO transactions, Octopus Automatic Add-Value Service, mobile communication / internet service recurring payment, etc., are not considered as CNP transactions.
    • When the CNP transaction function is enabled, the daily CNP transaction limit cannot exceed the current credit limit. The daily accumulated CNP transactions amount also cannot exceed the daily CNP transaction limit.
    • The daily CNP transaction limit of related supplementary card(s) will follow those of the principal card.

 

Suspend or Reactivate Credit Cards

  • Cardholders can suspend their credit cards instantly via "Personal Internet Banking" / "Shacom Bank" mobile App. (To suspend supplementary card, please contact our customer service representative at (852) 2818 8236)
  • If cardholders would like to reactivate the related credit card, please visit "Personal Internet Banking" / "Shacom Bank" mobile App. For sake of security, the Bank will contact cardholders for verification purpose before the reactivation.
     
    Step 1: After logon in "Personal Internet Banking" / "Shacom Bank" Mobile App, select "Cards" > "Suspend or Reactivate Credit Card".   Step 2: Select to suspend the credit card and press "Suspend Card".
     
     
    Step 3: Select suspension reason and press "Confirm".   Step 4: The related credit card is suspended. If need to reactivate the credit card, press "Reactivate Card".
     
     
    Step 5: Press “Confirm” to reactivate the credit card, the Bank will take about 3 working days to process and our staff may contact the cardholder for card reactivation details.    
       

 

Activate Credit Cards*

  • Cardholders can activate new credit cards via "Personal Internet Banking" / "Shacom Bank" mobile App.
     
    Step 1: After logon in "Personal Internet Banking" / "Shacom Bank" Mobile App, select "Cards" > "Activate Credit Card".   Step 2: Confirm received the credit card and press "Agree with credit limit and activate this credit card".
     
     
    Step 3: Put a "" in the box to confirm and agree with the credit limit of this credit card and press "Confirm".   Step 4: Verify the credit card information and press "Confirm" before completed.
     

    *Note:

    • Cardholders are required to agree the credit limit before credit card activation. If you disagree with the credit limit, you can request to reduce your credit limit.

 

Adjust Credit Limit

  • Cardholders can make request to increase or decrease credit limit. The Bank will take 3 working days to complete the processing and our staff may contact cardholder for credit limit adjustment details.
     
    Step 1: After logon in "Personal Internet Banking" / "Shacom Bank" Mobile App, select "Cards" > "Adjust Credit Limit".   Step 2: Select credit card to adjust the credit limit and press "Adjust Credit Limit".
     
     
    Step 3: Input required credit limit and press "Confirm".   Step 4: Verify the request to adjust the credit limit and press "Confirm" before completed.
