RMB Checking Account

Our RMB Checking Account allows you to freely remit or exchange RMB and pay for consumer spending in Guangdong Province by cheques, sparing you the hassle of carrying large amounts of cash.

Service Benefits

• The upper limit for each cheque in Guangdong Province (including ShenZhen) is RMB80,000 and the daily limit for settlement is RMB80,000
• Statements are issued monthly, showing all transaction details
• Enquiries can be made on account balances, deposit interest rates, exchange rates and transfer funds through Internet Banking or Phone Banking

Customer Notice

We accept the applications of both Hong Kong residents & non-Hong Kong residents for RMB deposit services. Customers who are non-Hong Kong residents are required to inform the Bank in writing immediately if they have subsequently obtained a Hong Kong identity card after opening their RMB accounts. Upon receipt of such notification, their RMB accounts shall change to a Hong Kong resident RMB account.

Notes:
1. If used in mainland China, RMB cheques can only be used for consumer spending in Guangdong Province (including Shenzhen).
2. For customers who are non-Hong Kong residents, RMB cheques can be used within the Hong Kong region only.
